Nature Friendly Food and Drink Providers Checklist

Please answer the questions below. If you would like to provide more information about any of your responses, please use the box at the end of this form. This award is applicable to registered North York Moors Tourism Network businesses who will be listed (for free) on the North York Moors National Park website. By signing this document you are committing to meeting the essential criteria at all times. Once accepted you will be awarded “Nature Friendly” status and issued with two logos and guidelines for use. Any business reported not to be complying with the essential criteria may be removed from the scheme and will be asked to remove all logos and references at their own cost.

Essential Criteria:

We are based in the North York Moors National Park or the wider influence area* and will promote Nature Tourism activities and events via our website, social media and other forms of marketing where possible. See northyorkmoors.org.uk/nature

We have joined the North York Moors Tourism Network and will promote the nature friendly initiative and other nature friendly businesses wherever possible/appropriate. This might include accommodation and activity providers.

Our guests/customers can enjoy nature routes or activities at our premises or close by.

We have outdoor friendly facilities and are happy to accept muddy boots and wet customers (boot covers or separate seating areas are fine). *Please provide photos.

We actively seek to attract and support wildlife on our premises i.e. bird feeders, bird boxes and planting for bees and butterflies etc. *Please provide photos.

We provide reference information i.e. leaflets, wildlife books, walks, websites, apps and places to enjoy nature across the North York Moors. *Please provide photos.

We will support and actively promote the National Park’s responsible tourism messaging- Share with Care

Upon successful application we will display the nature friendly logo and North York Moors National Park partnership logo** on our website. This will include the relevant links to NYM web pages.

Providing equipment that guests can use to view the wildlife on our premises either on loan or for hire i.e. binoculars.

Working with nature activity guides and businesses to put on occasional events.

Having a copy of the Nature Tourism Toolkit- ask a member of the tourism team at NYMNP.
