Walking Friendly - Accommodation Providers

We are based in the North York Moors National Park or the wider influence area* and will promote walking activities and events via our website, social media and other forms of marketing where possible. See northyorkmoors.org.uk/walking

We have joined the North York Moors Tourism Network and will promote the walking friendly initiative and other walking friendly businesses wherever possible/appropriate. This might include tearooms/cafes and activity providers.

Our guests/customers can enjoy walking routes or events from our premises or close by.

We are flexible with guests and allow late returns and early breakfasts. This includes considering how they will interact with other guests i.e. returning late and making noise.

We have outdoor friendly facilities such as boot cleaning equipment and outdoor/wet gear storage with drying facilities where possible. *Please provide photos.

We provide information such as leaflets, OS maps/compass, printed walking route, local walking guide books and information on weather forecasts etc. *Please provide photos.

We provide access to an outdoor first aid kit.

We provide links on our website to walks/ websites/ apps or places to enjoy walking across the North York Moors. *Please provide link.

We will support and actively promote the National Park’s responsible tourism messaging- Share with Care

Upon successful application we will display the walking friendly logo and North York Moors National Park partnership logo** on our website. This will include the relevant links to NYM web pages.

Offering a free tea/coffee flask top up or providing packed lunches (additional charge) if requested.

Providing a pick up and drop off service.

Offering a quick wash and dry service for clothing.
